Niko Georgiades || Israel has committed at least 497 ceasefire violations, killing at least 342 Palestinians since the U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect on Oct. 10, according to the Gaza Government Media Office. Israel has violated the ceasefire conditions with consistent bombings, shootings, drone attacks, and further entrenching their forces into Gaza territory.

On Nov. 22, an Israeli ‘kamikaze’ drone targeted a car on a busy Gaza City street, killing five Palestinians and injuring many more. See video from the aftermath below.

As a part of the ceasefire, Israeli forces left yellow-painted square concrete boulders to mark where Palestinians cannot go past without being fired upon. Israeli forces have expanded this so-called “yellow line” further into what’s left of neighborhoods in the bombed-out Gaza Strip.

A concrete block in the center of Gaza City’s Sha’af district shows Israel’s deadly “yellow line” where Israeli kills anyone who crosses it. The markers were brought in another 300-400 meters last week, further displacing families.

Israel currently occupies and controls more than half of the Gaza Strip and have moved nearly 1,000 feet further in the Shuja’iyya and Sha’af neighborhoods in Gaza City, directly impacting forcibly displaced residents who were living in their homes within this area.

This advance forced them to flee their damaged homes and become displaced again, with many people forced to evacuate last Friday.

Families in Gaza City’s Sha’af neighborhood are once again displaced by Israeli forces as Israel moved the deadly “yellow line” further into residential areas on Nov. 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, this week there was discussions in Egypt with Qatar and Türkiye, as well as Hamas, on the next steps of what they’re continuing to call a ceasefire.

Yesterday, the remains of an Israeli captive was recovered in Gaza and handed to Israel by the Red Cross. As part of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on Oct. 10, the remains of 28 captives from Israel were supposed to be released within 72 hours. However, finding the bodies without heavy equipment and support has been difficult. There have been 25 bodies recovered in the rubble and three more are still being searched for by Palestinian fighters. Israel has used the delay as a pretext to continue its violations of the ceasefire.

In exchange for the deceased captives, Israel has handed over the remains of 330 Palestinians that they killed in Gaza — many with extreme torture marks and execution wounds and with no identification.

On Nov. 24, experts from the United Nations urged all states to stop attacks and reported that Israel “has committed at least 393 violations, killing 339 Palestinians, including more than 70 children, and injuring more than 871 others.” They also called for aid to be allowed in, humanitarian corridors created, sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel, full media access to occupied Palestinian territory, investigations into violations of international law and the considerations of a UN-led intervention.
