Against fascism, racism and colonialism

Class struggle feminism for the win

CGT-E || This March 8 we leave together because the advance of fascism, racism and colonialism is already affecting our lives. It is not a distant threat: it is expressed in wars, occupations, increasingly violent borders, policies of expulsion and detention, loss of rights and social control, in the service of a capitalist and patriarchal system that needs inequality to sustain exploitation.

This advance specifically hits women. In contexts of war, occupation and militarization, our bodies and our lives become the territory of violence, poverty and dispossession, reinforcing sexist violence and limiting our autonomy.

From an internationalist feminism, we denounce the consequences of this system on women in different parts of the world: the situation experienced by women in Syria; the daily resistance of Saharawi and Palestinian women to colonialism and forced displacement; and the persecution that Kurdish women suffer today for sustaining projects of autonomy and feminist emancipation. Similarly, we denounce the policies of detention, deportation and separation of families that especially beat migrant women, generating suffering, fear and uprooting. They are not foreign realities, but expressions of the same structure of domination that crosses borders.

Here and now, the loss of rights and the deterioration of public services are advancing hand in hand with right-wing governments, with direct attacks on women’s autonomy. Basic conquests such as access to abortion, equal education or sexual and reproductive freedom are questioned, while controlling, inequality and exclusion are reinforced.

The consequences are visible in everyday life: precariousness, difficulty of access to decent housing, impoverishment and an increase in sexist violence in all its expressions – physical, sexual, economic and institutional – that continue to claim lives.

In the face of this context, our demands are not abstract: they are concrete answers to defend lives worthy and free from violence.

WE DEMAND:

  • The end of all sexist violence, including femicides, vicarious violence and murders of a macho nature, with real policies of prevention, protection, reparation and adequate resources.
  • The end of structural precariousness, the sexual division of labour and the wage and pension gap that condemns women to inequality throughout their lives.
  • A public system of care, community, universal and free, along with decent working conditions in the sector, with fair wages, stability, collective agreements and access to strike.
  • The right to decent housing and basic supplies, in the face of speculation, evictions and housing precariousness.
  • Effective protection from any crisis, because its consequences fall disproportionately on women and people in vulnerable situations.
  • The eradication of all violence and discrimination against women, dissidents and LGBTIQA+, as well as gender biases in health.
  • The end of institutional violence, which criminalizes, unprotects and violates rights, especially against women, migrants and groups in struggle.
  • The repeal of labor reform and pension reforms that condemn us to exhausted and precarious lives.
  • The repeal of the gag law, which criminalizes and punishes with sanctions and prison the social protest, being used to persecute and repress feminist collectives, trade unions and critical social movements.
  • A basic income of equals and the reduction of the working day to 30 hours.
  • Visibility and equal representation of women and non-binary people in all areas.
  • A non-capacitist society, inclusive of functional diversity and non-normative bodies.
  • Real policies of co-education, training and equal awareness.
  • The regularization of all migrants, the repeal of the immigration law, the closure of the ICDs and the end of deportations.
  • Urgent action in the face of the climate emergency, from social justice.

In the face of fascism, there is no neutrality.
Our response is collective, feminist and without borders, in the streets, in the workplaces and in all spaces of life.
