The historic CNT rally at Montjuïc in Barcelona took place on July 2, 1977, drawing a massive crowd estimated between 100,000 and 300,000 people. It marked the first major legal public gathering held by the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) in Spain since 1939, following the death of dictator Francisco Franco and the return of prominent anarchist figure Federica Montseny from exile.
